Sunday on Mount Tam

No jumps, no hucks, no illegal poaching, no crashes, really nothing exciting (with the exception of one guy keeling over which I did not actually witness other that seeing him pedal away). Nonetheless, a beautiful ride today. Not too many people due to the threat of rain. Sounds of waterfalls everywhere. Those who live in the Bay Area know this lovely mountain where Mountain Biking was born. Here's some shots for those of you who live elsewhere.

First 2 shots are redwood trees. The shot that shows the water near the bottom is a picture of San Francisco and the Bay Bridge if you look closely.

Enjoy!

Very Nice Impy!

Looks like a great ride you got there. Beautiful water falls.

I wish that I had time to ride there last Oct when I was in SF. I'll have to make sure to have time for it when I'm in town next.

BTW, thanks for the encouragement. I finally went out last night for a ride. Yes! A ride in a cold weather! Actually, it was a lot warmer yesterday .

Thanks again for sharing the beautiful photos!

Tammy

Great shots impy

looks like you had a day like we did a bit further north. I thought Mt Tam was closed to riding; maybe just parts of it? wish I didn't have to work today, I'd head right back into the forest for some fun. Jim

Tam's fireroads are open to bikes but the single track is not except for a couple of short legal trails. There are of course many hiking trails that are very illegal for bikes. Some fireroads are open and flat with (what I climbed yesteday just for a workout as it is totally rideable even in a downpour). There are other roads that are pretty fun like eldridge grade of which parts are less "road" and mostly exposed rock - BbUuMmPpYy and moderately technical. Again, great for training/workouts for those of use without roadie bikes.
