Upset Yuba Expeditons Stole 176 dollars from me!

Flat out the worst bike shop I've ever been to.

I called them and booked 2 shuttles for a Saturday for (4) persons each (176.00 USD) and asked for 9 AM and 2 PM. The extremely rude girl who was doing the booking stated that they only had spots on the 10 AM and 3 PM shuttles for (4) persons. I agreed and gave them my credit card and was instantly charged 176.00 dollars (non-refundable). When Saturday came around my group showed up to the shop around 9:50 AM ready to roll and the extremely rude girl behind the counter stated that we had missed our shuttle which was at 9 AM. NOT TRUE. I noticed that their booking ledger was written in pencil and it looked as though my name was erased from 10 AM and written into the 9 AM slot.

Basically I asked if I could re-book and the extremely rude girl stated that I had to forfeit and eat the money I paid over the phone for the shuttle. THEY FUC*ED ME.

After learning this I immediately called my credit card provider and told them I was scammed by Yuba Expeditions and within 3 business days my money was returned to me.

Lesson learned: Downieville Outfitters is a way better shuttle company and they have friendly and reliable staff.

YUBA EXPEDTIONS STOLE 176 dollars from me!! Luckily USBANK has a great fraud policy.....

No one stole, you got your money back correct? YE tried to honor your original request, but there was some miscommunication. But good they have an alternative shuttle co. if you are not happy.

And the said woman at YE has always been congenial and more than accommodating.

Go have a drink at the Stud and breathe easy.

Yeah the extremely rude girl behind the counter, while she flung her hair over her left shoulder and laughed at us standing there in front of her with our body armor and camelbaks.

Not cool!. She could have re-scheduled us but refused to.

She just kept laughing......

I find this hard to believe ... I have moved my shuttle time w/o incident there several times before even on busy weekends.

that sux they tried to burn you.
I've only used D.O. and they drove me up the road and played good music on the way so I guess that's a positive experience.

I have also changed my times in the past, only when they have space. I think they changed their policy. Keep in mind, I went only 5 days ago from today.

There's two sides to every story. You discredit yourself every time you open your mouth.

You seem extremely rude and ill-tempered so I can't imagine what you're like in person.

Anyway, having dealt with Yuba dozens of times and seeing how you handle yourself, I'll believe their side 100% (even before I hear it ).

Never ever had a problem with Yuba, well there was that one time I ordered a rim in Dville and it somehow never made the trip from Nevada City so I had to go get it but I got a nice hat out of the deal, oh and the time I went in to buy brake cables and was given shifter cables at first.
Even the best of shops makes mistakes.
I am still riding on the Monkeylite carbon bar I got off them for $75 when the retail was $120 or so.
I also never had a problem with DO for that matter, and that antique bus kind of added to the adventure, glad I did not have ride back down from Packer Saddle in that thing.
I suspect there is more (or less) to the story than the OP is telling.

Same experience, same story. I went up with a group of 8 or so riders and was screwed as well. There is no confirmation from YE, and they write down names in PENCIL...really??

Downieville Outfitters is the way to go... its cheaper on weekends and you NEVER have to pay in advance.

I will not ever be giving YE my business.

Nice try ms. 1 post.
Customer service is dead!

Back when Yubaville Expedifitters was in business, soon as you were booked, you got branded, hog tied, thown in a burlap sack and catapulted to Packer Saddle.

No way you was missing your shuttle with them!

How I wish the OP could have experienced that!

Over the 4th of July weekend, my bud had to cancel out on the second shuttle making it a stellar 3 people on the 4 pm. No complaints from Yuba. They didn't charge me, and they didn't cancel the shuttle even through it was surely a total loss for them.

Okay so my girlfriend was booked on the shuttle as well (sf dh gurl) who also got janked by Yuba. She posted from the same source IP address. Big Deal..

This doesnt change the fact that our names were erased from the ledger. PERIOD.

I paid in advance so there weren't about to give me a refund.

Did you guys ride the 3 or 4PM shuttle you also scheduled?
If so then you stole from them.

Multiple IPs for different users does not necessarily mean someone is aliasing. The Law and I share the same IP from home. That other person could have just been a co-worker that wanted to back a fellow riding buddy, who was also part of the weekend screwage. I have a buddy here at work that may one day register with MTBR....

Oh man, you are on the wrong forum. Too many people have had good experiences here with Yuba for the above to hold.

Especially after you tried to put one over on us with your "girlfriend" who created an account on MTBR just today and posted a similar (but implied that it was unrelated) example of Yuba's evil business practices. Unfortunately she didn't identify herself as part of your party until Francis noticed that it was from the same IP address. Oops.

Nice try, move along ...

I don't believe you are telling the whole truth. I was able to change my time after I missed my shuttle on Friday afternoon before the D-Ville classic this year when D-Ville was packed and most shuttles were sold out.

You must have been rude to them or you're just lying or both. Whatever ... as Morgan noted below, you have failed to win the crowd.

This goes right up there with "I didn't post that message, I left myself logged in and my buddy posted that."

or maybe

"No that dude on donkey pr0n belongs to my roomate, I let him use my computer."

Is YE hard to get a return call from? Yes
Do you need to call YE to confirm shuttle reservations, because they do everything on paper? Yes
Has YE ever called me to tell me that they are rescheduling us because our shuttle didn't have enough riders Yes

Did I ever feel like YE (or DO) were thieves or disrespectful to me? ABSOLUTELY NOT.

Off the top of my head, I can think of 2 other instances on this board where someone created a second account to rip a business and got busted. (I am sure there are more) In both cases it was someone related to the competing business. One of those instances was a YE vs DO thread also and that didn't turn out well for DO.

This is the third. I am just sad that the girl never tossed her hair in front of me

Ive had shuttles moved/accomodated/great service in general from both YE and DO. But I enjoy and appreciate the trailwork and efforts of the D-ville area by YE much more.

btw, who's frank?

If I went in with piss poor attitude, I would expect to be laughed at too. and based on your first post, I would have made you dealt with your CC company too.

Okay, this gotta be a joke. Did IRMB create those aliases and made a story up just to jazz up the board? We sure can use a little controversy as it's been a while.

Next week, I think that I'll spread some rumors about Baycat.

As for the OP. If Yuba was behaving this badly on a regular basis, this board would have known a long time ago. I'm putting the odds of your story to be true at 100 to 1.

There are times when your best option is to STFU and walk away from a thread. OP has crossed that threshold and needs to just let it drop. Further posts will only damage any cred he has on this board more at this point.

I think you may want to extend that apology to the entire board. I for one was expecting much more

When I was a snotty brat teenager my grandma asked what I wanted for Easter Dinner. I snapped back, "rabbit."
It was the first time I'd tasted roasted rabbit. I think it would have been much better with pancakes.

I'm a big fan of rabbit. It's much better than chicken and not nearly as greasy.

Should we start talking about radar wielding rangers in Skeggs and speed limit to spice this thread up a notch?

The week before Dville classic XC, I called from the road Hi.49 driving into the canyon and was able to change my time from 9-10am because I was running late.... This was a weekend before the race and there were peoples pre running the course like me. I rode up with WTB pro Dane and Rachel Lloyd.

Yuba has always hooked me up, but then again I'm lecherous around women...

I was wondering why all the women in SF are keen to smile at me..... I'm guessing all us single straight guys in Sillycon valley should be getting up to the City for pillaging of the women!!!!

If my math is correct that is....

Luckily USBANK has a great fraud policy.....

you could have got a rain check for the shuttles you paid for, and would have been able to come back another weekend and rode. And about outfitters, they dont have any insurance on there vans, so when you get in a wreck in them your screwed and so are they. you better watch what you say about the shop because i work there and outfitters is a hole in the wall compared to our shop.

pardon my english composition practice

Frank grimaced and muttered to no one, "Well, happy birthday to me." The envelope had been lying in the street a few feet from his door. It contained precisely 176 dollars in U.S. currency. And there was the note. And the lock of hair. Hair that looked as if it had recently been flung over a left shoulder.

The note couldn't have been more cryptic: "I had a good laugh. The pencil trick worked just like you said it would."

...not to be continued, with luck...

And your IP address going from country to country or where ever is easy when you jump through proxy servers.

This doesnt change the fact that our names were erased from the ledger. PERIOD.

I paid in advance so there weren't about to give me a refund.

You might want to take to heart the statement "It is better to silent and thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."

You were clearly posting from two accounts. Your lied twice in the thread, up to the point of the post I have quoted, first by saying you live in downtown SF, then saying San Mateo, second when you posted as sf dh girl saying this happened with "8" people, clearing representing that sf dh girl's alleged claim was a separate incident from yours.
