Anyone ridden Mount Beauty?
Hey!
Just wondering who of you have ridden around Mount Beuaty and Falls Creek area and could give me directions to some trails etc? How do I get to the trail that was raced in the national series? How long is it? Are there any sites or anthing with information about trails around? Has anyone ridden any?
Thanks, i'm going up at easter and I have no idea where everything is!

Easy
It's all very easy when you get there. They all run off the main street which is the main road to falls creek that runs through Mt Beauty. I presume you mean Big Hill downhill and the short course and XC course.
There is a small map/ride book but just go to the local shops or even Bright has a shop too and lots of rides. The race tracks are on government land -water authority I think access should be ok but I've only raced there..

Hi,
It will be the XC course. How long is it do you know? Is there anywhere on the net that has info? Is it a 'lap' course or does it finish somewhere else?
Also i know there is a bit of track at Mount Bogong? Have you ridden that?

Thanks, i think i've visited that linked site before.
On the way up the mountain we'll check in at the 'park' to see where about's it is, i'm pretty sure i know where to find it.

As far as I know , there are only walking trails on Mt Bogong and as it's national park , bikes are only legally allowed on the fire trails.
There is an awesome ride from Falls Ck to Beauty via Timms Spur. Its all fire trail except for the last section down Survey track , about 45 kms long and 1500m vertical descent.  You need to do it with a group though , some of the ride is fairly isolated , it would be a very long walk out of there if you had a mechanical or bad crash. |
