What fork should I get?

Thanks to all of to restate my original post. The bike is A 2010 Specialized Hardrock sport disc. What I am looking for in the new shock is 100mm of travel And i don't mind any brand and for a decent price.
What I am seeing in the shock and why I want a new one is than when every time i go for a ride it bottoms out alot. Also when I go off jumps the bottom out, also when descending rough trails the fork bottoms out and i have to slow down. Also there are black streaks on the fork inner tubes.

Get a cheap fork from either Rock Shox or Manitou. They have tiered pricing so it really depends on how much you feel like spending. Also look for sales on last year's models.

Search closeouts and whatnot. I eventually got a great deal on a manitou drake like a year or two ago from bikewagon.

I picked up a new 2011 100mm Manitou Minute Pro about 2 months ago and love it. The adjustability is fantastic and it's really light. The only downside was that I had to change out the spring from a medium to a firm (I weigh about 190 with gear). It was easy to do myself, fortunately, and only cost $20 for the new ride kit.

I don't think the Minute Expert has that issue since it's a spring shock with air assist (the pro is air shock with spring assist). From what I understand, the Expert allows you to adjust easier for rider weight through the air pressure level. The Expert is about 1/2 pound heavier.

Manitou's been great to deal with. I bought mine on Ebay from a reputable bike shop and the price was really low probably due to the fact that it had no decals. I emailed Manitou's tech/warranty department and asked about where I could get new decals. They sent me a new set in the mail free and have also answered a couple of questions I had about the fork.

Oh cool, I'm looking to get a new fork for my 2011 Hardrock Disc. The Suntour that came with it seems to be toast, making all sorts of noise and sticking as is compresses. Depending on the trail I bottom out too, probably gonna look for 100 mm travel as well.

Recon silver or gold on closeout should be fine and able to be had for $200 or less.

I put a minute on my Iron horse maverick and it is a very good fork for the money. Feels smooth right from the get go and that ABS+ is money with the remote lockout.

Im looking at an upgrade also, anyone know the difference on the Reba RL and RTL. I know there are differences but can anyone explain. Ill be racing xc with it, roots small climbs and small drops. Is the RTL worth the difference? I can get the the RL for about $400.00 and the RTL for about $440. And does anyone know where one can be had for less than this?

The T in RLT stand for "Threshold" adjustment. Most folks can go with the RL version as many of those that do spend the extra for the crown-mounted threshold adjustment don't ever adjust it on the trail after they get it dialed in the first time....once you figure out your threshold it's a "set it and forget it" thing.

You can save yourself even more money over the Reba Rl by going with a SID Race. There has been a bunch of them on fleabay and other sites for under $350. It's basically the same MoCo dampner and other internals as the Reba RL. Lowers and crown are darn close too with only a 19 gram difference. If it was me I would grab the SID, especially since it's cheaper.

Front and Rear Shock upgrade

My current mountain bike is a 1998 Gary Fisher full suspension. Its old but it works. A couple months ago the crowning on Manitou Answer fork cracked and spilt. Im cheap and didnt want to drop any money into it so i fixed put it back together with epoxy and wrapped the crowning with some electrical tape. It works.
BUT the guys im riding with have recently upgraded thier bikes to some pretty sweet bikes so im feeling a little envy here. I love my bike and im not wanting to drop a grand or two on a new one. So i think its time for some upgrades but i want to do this as cheap as possible. I think i want to start with the suspension. Obviously the front suspension needs to be replaced but the rear suspension isnt great either. It rides like a pogo stick. Ive just learn to deal with it.

So my question is what are some recomended upgrades as far as rear shock and suspension fork. Please note im not trying spend alot of money so im looking for older parts. Im also not a pro so i dont need pro level equipment. i just want to upgrade for as little as possible. Also im not a gear head so is there any specific information information i need to know when it comes to buying front and rear shocks?

Thanks everybody
