Want to compare the A-C Measurements of the new RS Pike 29 vs the Fox 34 29" at 140mm

Can anyone help with this please as I can't find their measurements anywhere?

Fox 34 29er at 140mm is 553mm with 51mm offset, while the RS Revelation 29er 140mm was 548mm a2c with 46mm offset. I haven't seen anywhere the dimensions of the new Pike yet.

Thank you, I'm planning on fitting the Pikes on Yeti SB95c and I've read that I should stick with a 51mm offset so obviously I'm keen on finding out the numbers before I commit.

I've been looking for the AtC on the new Pike line as well with no luck so far.

I got the details from RockShox last week, I'll post ASAP.

One disappointment for me was that the Pike's are only coming in 150 and 160mm travel for 29" initially.

I'll post what I have tomorrow.

Good news for me happened today when my local shop let me know that my 140mm dual position will be in I'm June. Don't know why the UK Sram guy told me it wasn't going to be available yet though? :/

I did call today out of boredom and found out the model I am interested in (150mm 26") is expected to have a AtC of 532. About 4mm more than the similar Revelation I think.

Thanks carabao for the data. I am thinking about buying a Pike for a planned Ibis Mojo HD build with 26 inch wheels, but I would like the option to convert to 27.5 in the future. The 27.5 A2C is only 7mm longer than the Mojo HD spec (552mm vs. 545mm) so that would work. But, there is a 2mm offset difference between the 26" and 27.5" forks (40mm vs. 42mm). How much will the 2mm longer offset affect the ride? Will the steering be too quick?

I have an Xfusion Velvet and I can feel the difference compared to a Fox32 at the same A-C. For slow stuff the higher offset makes it feel more nimble, but at higher speed it gets unstable and doesn't turn well. Makes the bike want to hold a straight line. For reference the Velvet has an offset that is +3mm compared to the F32.

I guess it depends on how stable the Mojo HD is to begin with. I own 2 of the same frames in different sizes. The larger frame handles the Velvet nicely, but after extensive testing, I won't run the Velvet on the smaller frame because the offset makes it too unstable at speed.

I'm in the exact same boat! If the 27.5 version will work without being wonky it would be a nice way to future proof the bike.

I'm a newb to the geometries game, but would the +7mm ATC have any impact on the feel of the offset given that it may slightly (very slightly) change the HT angle? It would be very slight but then again 2mm is pretty slight no?

I emailed Scot at Ibis, he said the 27.5 Pike would work on the HD with 26" wheels. The Pike 7mm a2c increase will only change the HT angle by about .3 degrees. No big deal, tons of people ride with 555 or 565mm forks on HDs.

Sweet! Did he happen to mention when they would be shipping the dedicated 27.5 rear triangle so we can keep the 160 travel?

I run my HD with a 555mm A2C Lyrik 170 so A2C is fine. HA would be 66.66 vs the 67 with a Float 160 (mine's at 66.5 right now). Trail with my Lyric is 105 which feels fine. It will be 107 with the Pike which should be fine but something to think about.

With anticipated arrival of the 2014 Pike around the corner, I found myself comparing it to the new Fox 29, 34 CTD. Does anyone know if the new Fox has the same A-C measurement as last year's model? If so, then according to the file linked above, a 150 Pike would be only 8mm taller than the 140mm CTD.

    ^ It's the same. A-2-C is 552.8mm for the Fox 34 140mm.
