    Upgrading Dart 3

I have a 2008 Rockhopper that I'm going to be converting to single speed. On top of this I'd like to get rid of the Dart that came with the bike.

My LBS can get me a decent price on a recon silver (300-ish). I live in southeastern michigan. We have a decent amount of roots. I ride entirely XC. Would this fork be suitable for me? Is 300 a good price for this fork or should I search online for a better deal.

I'd scour the Internet for a Reba. Your 2008 will probably be a straight steerer tube and your wheels regular QR, and the Rebas that accommodate these criteria are very inexpensive right now. You can get one for around $300 probably if you hunt around and it's a better fork than the Recon.

Edit: I would not pay $300 for a Recon, btw.
Please donate to IMBA or your local IMBA chapter. It's trail karma.

I put a Reba on my 08' Giant and I love it. $350 at bluesky.
