    Trek Advance fork upgrade

I'm new the hobby so excuse my lack of knowledge. I have a 2011 Trek Advance Fisher with discs. From what I gathered it has sun tour XCT V2 SF9 100mm travel 46mm offset crown. What is the 46mm offset crown? I trail ride mostly and a little street. I want to upgrade to a fox fork maybe Talas? Can someone point me in the right direction?

46mm on a 26" wheel bike is part of the "Fisher G2" geometry. It allows a slacker headtube angle while still making the steering quicker. Most 26" wheel forks use a 39mm offset. Putting a standard offset fork with the same 100m travel will slow down your steering ever so slightly, not a real big deal.

I would like to keep the 46mm offset if possible. I really like the way the handles on the trails. Just looking for a better fork. The lockout on the suntour has aready broke. I guess I would be better off bringing it to my lbs and having a talk with them.
