    TORA 302 New Crown

    I have a
RockShox Tora 85-130mm Coil 302 U-Turn Fork (Black Turnkey
Rim/Disc) that needs a new crown.
I bought a New Rock Shox Tora TK Crown Steerer Upper CSU Aluminium 1 1/8'' 265mm MTB Fork online that said it was the same.

I took it to the bike shop. Its about 5 to 10 mm shorter. They said it might work but had to call SRAM. Anyone know if this would work? Are they just not compatible unless they are identical. I think my fork is a 2010 and the new crown is a 2011.

    TORA 302 New Crown

Where is it short? The upper stanchions? It just the steerer tube? If its the stanchions it might not be ok to swap them. If it is the steerer then you might just need to remove some spares from the steerer stack height.

The steerer is to short for the bike I want to use it on. The difference from the old vs the new is the length of the upper stanchions. They are a little different. The ones that are in the fork are not rounded as much on the bottom of the stanchions as the new one. Its for my wifes bike so if they will work and just maybe loose a little travel then its ok. She is still learning. But if its going to screw things up inside I wont use it. I left them at the bike shop or I would snap a pic and show you. Bike shop is supposed call SRAm and let me know if the morning.

    TORA 302 New Crown

Hmmm... I wonder if you have the correct uppers. Or if you may need to switch out the internals as well.

Look at some of the Rockshox Spare Parts Catalogs, they have part numbers for all the parts of your fork.

The one that is in the fork now is a
    11.4015.232.00 CSU
    The new one is a
    11.4015.479.010

They look different. I think this might not work. anyone tried to swap these out before??

So the bike shop says there are different. Thats what I thought after looking at this for a while. Thanks for the links cobba. I wanna get the right ones, I'm looking at the rock shox catalog. Does any one know the difference between a
11.4012.232.000 vs a 11.4015.233.000 or a 11.4015.232.020. I wanna make sure I get this right. Kicking myself for not looking this up in the 1st place. I think I need the 11.4015.233.000

Anyone looking for a New CSU, Aluminum Steerer 265 mm 1 1/8" - 2011 Tora TK (11.4015.479.020) hit me up and I will make you a good deal.
