thoughts on the ultimate APP bike rear shock
Title says it all. Stock RL fox is not doing it for me (very sticky feeling with the permanent propedal setting) Marzocchi roco air felt great until it blew up and I cant get a seal kit for it. Air or coil, aside from gucci shocks (BOS, CCDB) what would you go with and WHY would the characteristics of that shock be a good match for the APP leverage curve?
I don't think there is an "ultimate" shock for APP.
Rather, there's likely a good shock for the bike and your riding style and tuning preference.
APP rate is basically slightly falling-flat-slightly rising.
Many air shocks will do well providing they are tuned to your weight and riding style.
The 2013 Fox RP23 Factory shocks are pretty awesome with the smaller air can and ability to have the compression and rebound tuned to what you like-L/M/H.
Additionally, you can tune the air can yourself for end stroke feel.
RockShox Monarch RC3 could be a great option as well.
