So I got a good offer on a Vanilla 125RL...

My question is whether the Adjustable Blow-Off feature the RLC has is worth the price difference. I've never had a fork with a lock-out so please forgive my ignorance.

I assume a locked out fork still compresses a little bit when hitting a bump. However, is the compression significant enough to require adjustment? I guess my bottom line question is, how and where would this feature make a difference?

A related question is what's the difference between 2005 Vanillas and 2004s? Are there any new features in the 05s?

    Thanks for the help.

Doesn't the RL have the adjustable blowoff too?

    Check this link

Some people in here say that the "C" in the RLC doesn't do much.

The RL has rebound and lockout only. No adjustable blow off.

    I have a Vanilla RLC

and would say that the C is worth the extra money to me, but not the adjustable blow off. This is because I almost never lock the fork out, and if I do it's only on a smooth surface. The primary purpose of the blowoff is to protect the fork, not for rider comfort, and no adjustment is necessary for that purpose.

In my case, I would have bought an RC if they made one, but since they don't I went with the RLC to get the compression damping. By the way, I really like the fork, it's very plush and low maintenance, even in the wet UK conditions. I hope this helps.

Thanks for the link. I think the 05s are worth waiting for after all.

When are the 05s supposed to be available? Chad from Redbarn Bicycles said 2-3 weeks, and he's probably right. I'm just curious in case anybody heard different.
