Skareb Platinum vs. Minute Two???????

I am looking to upgrade my X-vert super on my Tracer this season. I am a pretty light guy (150 lbs) but donít ride with finesse. I race and my recreational xc riding is done in fairly technical terrain (lots of rock gardens and roots). I have been eyeing the Skareb Platinum and the Minute Two, and am wondering what their differences are. Both have spv and weight in at about the same... Any insight would be greatly appreciated (I will be most likely upgrading to a swinger 3 way in the back at the same time if that influences the fork choice!)

Get the Minute. Mechanically they are both identical but Its about 1/4 of a pound heavier (don't believe the claimed weights) than the Skareb but has much beefier castings, larger crown, and thicker stanctions. I think its a more suitable fork for a Tracer.

Agree, the Minute 2 is very light if you go bossless, and stiffer for agressive riding regaurdless of weight. Be aware though, that at your weight, you may need the soft ride kit (coil spring that assists the air spring), which run about $25 I think. Manitou ships them with the medium, which according to their manual, is targeted for 170-190 lb riders. Of course, rider preference definatley comes into play there, as many like the stiffer springs for a firmmer feel on a fork that's relatively plush being coil/air.

The stock spring will be fine. Its for 140-170lbs I think.
