I just got the dual flow Lyrik rebound damper to match my MiCo dh damper. However there aren't any instructions for which way the black base goes. Not sure if the side with the holes drilled in is supposed to face down on the shaft towards the lowers or face up towards the MiCo damper. The RS spare parts list looks real blurry trying to zoom in on it but it looks sorta like the drilled side faces down.
Anyone know for sure, I've hit a brain fart.:madman:
The holes face down the the stanchion tube with the snap ring holding it in place on the flat side. I just had my Lyrik apart 2 minutes ago, If I saw this before hand I would have taken a picture.
Appreciate the quick reply.. I'm feeling a bit dense though, so are you saying the side with the holes drilled faces down on the rebound shaft like this? Or the other way. Thanks
What you're saying makes sense to me that the side with the holes drilled should face up towards the rebound piston , the opposite of the above picture. The part that is confusing is in this schematic I found here on the Lyrik diagram shows the drilled side facing down it seems. That has me confused.:skep:
Edit: This is on an 09 Lyric with an updated 2010 MiCo dh damper from the previous owner. It still had the older rebound damper with the tube in it that I am replacing so didn't have the benefit of seeing how it went before.
I actually have the same thing. An 09 that I upgraded to the 2010 dampers(under warranty). The spring clip wont fit with the holes facing away from the piston.
Thanks for the help guys. I wonder why RS shows it facing the other way in their pdf. Looking forward to seeing what difference the proper rebound makes.
