My wife's bike has a Rockshox Sektor on it and it has one of the expanding collet axle like this one
Line Steel Tool Office instrument Aluminium

Me and Her both hate this axle as the corners of the area you use to loosen or tighten it have gotten bent up and sharp, as we have to take the front wheel off every time we go ride as we use fork up roof rack trays.

So now on to the question can we replace it with the new style one like this one:

******UPDATE****** The axle Part Number from when this was originally talked about, and figured out has changed to 00.4318.005.006 the link for the part on BTI's Website is BTI | Rock Shox Maxle-Ultimate Road Q/R 15x100mm T-A kit******UPDATE******

So I managed to stumble across someone out on the trail that had a pike so I asked if i could try his axle in my wife's fork and he said sure and let me try and everything seemed to fit so we ordered one from the local bike shop.

I picked it up and installed it today and everything fits fine and here is a picture.

Am trying to clarify this. I need a new skewer for a 2016 15x100 pike. the sram parts pdf still specifies 00.4318.005.001 15x100 ultimate. The only difference i can see in spec is the 148mm total length compared to 125mm for the 4318.005.006 15x100 maxle lite / ultimate-road. Since both have same 15x100mm hub, all i can deduce is the fork lower mounts are thicker on the pike and RS-1? The 2016 pike measures 24mm per side (and that makes up the 148mm). :madman:

Could someone please measure a sector/revelation or 2014/2015 pike to see if it's less than 24mm? (the lowers that the axle goes through). I can only assume they're 12.5mm thick to make up the 125mm total width.

If i am correct.. 2016 (and maybe earlier) pike and rs-1 owners cannot use a 00.4318.005.006 ultimate road skewer as it's too short.

I contacted the seller and they reiterated that 00.4318.005.001 is for Pike/RS1 only. It's possible that RockShox changed part numbers and they certainly changed the name from Maxle Lite to Maxle Ultimate. The Maxle Lite XC, which is what I originally have, seems to have a newer version called Maxle Lite 15mm.

I'll check the dimensions of my Maxle against the 00.4318.005.006 part that you posted. The first difference that stands out to me is the threaded section of 12mm on the road Maxle versus 9mm on the off-road applications.

Okay, I just received 00.4318.005.006 which looks like the correct replacement with the new style lever. So, maybe Rockshox changed their part numbers or whatever, but 00.4318.005.001 is NOT the replacement for the old 00.4318.005.002 Maxle Lite. Order 00.4318.005.006 also described as "Maxle-Ultimate Road 15x100mm."

Awsome, enjoy the new axle, I will put an update in the original post so that no one else makes the same mistake. Shame they made it so complicated.

My 2016 Pike and my 2014/15 SID both use the same length Maxle. I actually went with SRAM through bolt,"Maxle Stealth", instead of 15QR, but I ordered both the same length. Which was 148mm. The boost is 158mm. I also ordered the Bluto version at 198mm. These dimensions are from Universal Cycles website where I bought them.

Thanks to this thread.
Life saver!!!

I recently damaged my TA QR on my Marzocchi 350NCR -- and Marzocchi replacements parts are very hard to come by in my area.

I did not realize that RS offered a longer TA on the PIKE until I read it here.

So as on the pics below, the MARZ Axle fits perfectly on the PIKE, and the MAXLE fits perfectly on the MARZ!!!

And you have saved me, because I will be able to use the Marz fork for saturday's race!!
