Rock Shox Sektor R or $200???????????

Getting a new bike(Santa Cruz Nickel) with a 130 mm Sektor R fork on it. After reading reviews of this fork, I am not sure I want it. Dealer will give me $200 Credit towards the bike for the fork. Would you (especially If you are a former/current sektor owner) keep the fork or take the $200 credit?

    Thanks

I have a Sektor solo air RL, not a bad fork, but then it does have the motion control damper which the R does not have. The R is likely to blow through its travel without out compression damping, so that may be the deal breaker for you.
You could keep the fork and get the MoCo damper for it, or get the $200 and look to get a Revelation or something similar.

You could buy a moco cart, and a BB rebound damper for maybe 150 total, and have a really fantastic fork. It'll cost you 500+ to get something decent, even subtracting the 200 you'd come out ahead upgrading the R.

Great info. I was not impressed with the fork on the test rides I did. Good to know it is upgradeable.

    Thanks

    I'd take the credit.
