I've got an odd issue on an older fork. My wife's bike has a circa 2005 RockShox Duke XC air fork that I replaced the seals on this spring. Yesterday after we drove to Bend I noticed oil running down the right fork leg (the one with the rebound damping adjuster and no air valve) and a puddle on the roof. The rebound adjuster was dry and both damper rod bolts were tight so the oil definitely came out of the seal area.
Any guess as t what happened? The fork works OK and she said it felt fine on the trail so the only guess I can come up with is that sitting on top of the car on a fork mount rack on a hot day drove the excess oil out of the foam ring under the seal.
