I have an old 98 Specialized FSR Extreme. The bike itself is still is pretty amazing condition for its age. I heard squeaking coming from the rear suspension a few weeks ago when the rear suspension engages. Didn't think much of it since I hadn't done a good cleaning in a few weeks, but now that I cleaned it up the squeak is still there and even a little more so. Didn't use a power washer, just a hand wash and lightly spraying it off as usual. I've greased up the entire linkage that holds the shock hoping that would do the trick, but squeak squeak it still goes. I am assuming it is from the rear shock itself and I am hoping there is a fix to this since I can't necessarily afford to replace it or the bike itself, nor do I want to spend too much on it since a new bike will be in the far distant future. Please help.
