Rock shox ario 3.2 rl question
Ok quick question re set up...
On rock shox air chart it says use 135 psi for a 180lb rider but when i do i use only 35mm of the 51mm travel and even when i drop the psi down to 120 i use 40 mm of the travel .
So i need only 110 psi in the shock to use almost all the 51 mm with out bottoming out the shock but this is alot less than advised.......
Has anyone else had this with there shock?????
Oh and sag is @ 20% with 135psi and 27% @ 110psi.
Cheers Wils

what bike is this shock on? Did you cycle the shock a few times before measuring the sag? Don't worry too much about the guideline it's just a starting point some use a bit more or less some require a lot. As long as you have the correct sag to your riding style and the frame recommendation you are OK.

HI its on the camber comp i had it set by the air guide for a month or so untill i noticed that on every ride i went on that the o ring in the shock was only ever 2/3 of the way down.
I have let all the air out to see if the shock will move 51mm and it does and im 180lbs with all my gear on.
I know the ario is a entry level shock so dont expect too much from it but as long as it used the full amount of travel im happy.
I did a quick ride last night and could tell it was better and the way i look at it is 51mm shock travel translates to 120mm swing arm movement ,so when it was only using 35mm i was only getting about 85mm on the back and thats noticable on rough ground.
I probably look in to things too much and notice things i shouldnt but thats the way i am..
