I have a Marzocchi AM1 from around 2004. It is mounted on a Ventsna El Saltamontes and set at 5". It was a great fork when it was new but the compression damping does not work anymore (not even full lock out), does not feel as smooth, and it is heavy. I would like to replace it with a lighter 5" travel fork, preferably a Fox. I weigh 133 lbs, ride it in Pisgah and DuPont mainly. I ride aggressively but am not a downhiller by any means.
I am going to rebuild it this week and may just send it to Suspension Experts and have them work on it which I know should fix everything except the weight.
If i decide to replace it, What fork do you recommend?
