Replacing Fox Float R seals - issue with shock mounts

So I feel dumb... I've watched the vids, read the threads, etc... I've got a 2004 Fox Float R that's never had seals replaced... I figure it could be time.

Washed the bike and pulled the shock. The lower mount bolt is slightly bent. Top bolt is fine. I put the top of the shock in the Workmate and unthread the air sleeve with no problem. Then I realize the air sleeve won't fit over the silver spacers where the lower shock mount bolt goes (see pic).

The silver spacer section doesn't want to come out. Should it want to? Should it easily slide out? Unthread? Tap out with a mallet? The air sleeve won't slide over it with it in place. I tapped it somewhat but I'm afraid to try too hard without more knowledge.

I am wondering if the spacer could somehow be bent, since the bolt inside it was. I'd be surprised, I guess...

    Thoughts? (sorry for crappy pic)

They actually are suppose to be tight, there is a DU bushing in there and the silver spacers push in. Many folks use an easy out, I have been successful with carefully pulling and twisting with a pair of vice grips. If you choose that method, don't hit the body of the shock, it will scratch easily. While it may require force, you should not have to call in for reinforcements .

I would use a spiral Easy-out to the inside of the reducer (broken bolt remover) Pliers (archaic style) will get the reducers out but leave nasty looking bite marks.
