Replacement shock for 2001 Rockhopper FS Comp

Can I take a Rockshox Psylo SL from a 2002 15-16" Rockhopper and switch w/ Rockshox Judy on 2001 17" Rockhopper w/ out problems? I've never switched a fork before. What problems can I run into? The frame switched from 2001 to 2002 also.

I want to keep the 2001 17" and sell the 2002.

The only problem would be if the steerer is too short for the new headtube, since you're moving to a larger frame. If there are spacers with your current stem and they make up the difference in headtube length, then you're ok.
