Recon Solo Air - length of exposed stanchion?

    Hi,
I have a RS Recon Solo Air on my Scott Spark 40 MY2010. By specification fork should have 120mm travel.
But my fork had only 100mm travel with exposed stanchion length of 115mm. Therefore I removed 2 spacers and fork get full travel - 120mm. But exposed stanchion length also grown up to 135mm.
Should the exposed stanchion length be so high? I donít think so because bike geometry is changed completely.
By my opinion the length of exposed stanchion is now too high. On my other bike I have Tora Coil SL with 100mm travel and length of exposed stanchion 105mm.
    Any suggestions?

In looking at the spacers you removed, how long are they? There were 2 versions of the Recon in 2010, the Race series which max at 120MM and the Trail Series which maxed at 140mm (if I recall QR versions were 130mm max). I have a 2010 Recon 351 Trail w/ 20MM axle and it is set at 140mm.

It is a Recom SL Solo Air TK remote with 9mm QR - probably OEM for Scott.
It should be set to 120mm travel by factory. Spacers were 10mm long.
