Rebuilding a fox 36. Some quick questions
First, what is the Fox Float Fluid actually?
Second, on the chart it says Damper (100ml), Damper side oil bath (30ml), and Spring side oil bath (15ml). Is the 'oil bath' the oil in the top or bottom? Due to the ammount used, I'd assume the Damper was the oil in the tops and the 'oil baths' would be the oil in the bottom of the fork.
Third, can I just use Silkolene 10wt oil in the top and bottom instead of the Fox Red and Green? I doubt that these companies really produce one that's more "anti foaming" than the other since that's the point of a high quality oil, right?
Thanks for the help, Fahn
Bath oil is inserted through the bottom holes. Does your 36 have the sealed damper cartridge? If so the damper oil goes in there. I used Maxxima oils in my 36's over the years with no problems.

Larry, is your fork a Talas or Float. The Float uses 25mm oil on the spring side. You can use Mobil 1 (or other FULLY syn motor oil) for the bath lube.
I find it to be a better lubricator. Also service the left side often (especially if it's a Talas) as there is very little oil on that side and it seems to "go away" quicker on that side.
Probably from the air pressure forcing it out the seals?

Second on Mobil1!!! We needz to know year/model!!!
Sorry. It's a 2010 36 Talas (III) rc2 FIT.
When you guys say Mobile 1 are you referring to motor oil? If so, what weight? Do you use the same ammount?

Synthetic engine oil in the semi bath, but not in the cartridge. Any clingy weight, can use more than double the amount. Fill it enough so the seals don't pop off when you compress
