Rear Shock tune

I have en Merida Ninety Six HFS 3000D and awould like to try a different rear shock.
I've looked at these:
Fox RP23 (2012)
But the rebound and boost valve tune should I go for?
and a
Rock Shox Monarch RT3
Can I use one with a high volume can?
Which rebound and Compression Tunn should I go for?

I lean towards Rox RP23 since I've had one on a former bike and been really happy with it. If I can find one with the right tune.

The bike has 100mm rear wheel travel, and a 190x50mm rear shock, to a ratio of 2:1

I would say Low tune if your ratio is 2:1 as you say.

This is for RS but Fox should have similar scale.

The was also what i foundt out, men byt the for has for exsamlel boost valve 200 is that high or low?
