Question about the Revelation RL (2014 model)

Hello folks. I'm fairly sure I'll be preordering a new Trek Remedy 7, which comes with a 2014 model Revelation RL fork.

I did some digging around, and I think the 2014 Revelation RL has the same damping as the 2013 models, "Motion Control DNA RL" with rebound adjust and "dual flow".

My question: Does anyone have any experience with the Revelation RL forks? Are they good, compared to something like a Fox Float Evolution?

Obviously this is a lower end model that lacks sophisticated compression adjustments and the like (being about 170 pounds, I find that the "standard" compression adjustment tends to work for me). What I'm concerned with is that the fork performs well overall.

    Thanks for any input!

I have the 2012 rlt. Awesome fork. Technical all mountain riding and mine is plush relatively stiff and reliable. If the lack of compression and floodgate don't bother you then go for it. Even if you decide you want these settings after you could always upgrade the damper.

Thanks, I had forgotten that you can upgrade the motion control damper.

If anyone else has some positive or negative experience with the Revelation RL I'd like to hear about it. Especially if you can compare it to something like the Fox Float / Talas Evolution.

I'm riding with a RL up front. I like the way mine works. I can compare it to a 2012 Fox which didn't really turn my crank.

Thanks. I've tried several 2012 Fox CTD forks, and didn't like them that much. My current bike has a 2011 Fox Float, which I think is very good.
