Problem servicing older Norco Sasquatch shocks.

I used to ride bikes all the time and am just getting back into it. I picked up an older Norco Sasquatch, I've got everything serviced and working really well but the shocks almost bottom out with just regular weight on them.

The issue is, for the life of me I can't figure out how to get them apart. Can anyone offer me a little guidance?

What about even what kind of shock it is? There's a plastic nut-like thing on top of the shock and the bottom of the fork doesn't open.

If anyone recognizes the make of the shock and can suggest a manual for them that'd be cool.
