    Noisy rear end...RockShox Ario 2.1

I have a 2010 Felt Compulsion 3 with the Rockshock Ario 2.1 rear shock. *****en bike, love it.....

Sag is set about 1" while I am sitting on the bike. Rebound/compression set to full "slow" on the dial.

The compression is quiet, but on rebound I hear the shock on every stroke. Sounds like air is whooshing in or out of the shock while it extends out.

I weigh 230. Started the shock rebound dial at about half way, and progressively I have had to crank it all the way to the slow side.

I have about 30-40 miles now on the bike. Did I already ruin the rear shock?

    Thanks!

I forgot to add in that the shock does not leak air or oil.

every rock shox i have had makes that noise. its fine. but i think depending on your bikes levarge rate you are only about to put half your body weight in psi into the shock. for example i weigh 150 and have a 2:1 shock rate and put about 75 psi in my shock.

When you have your rebound set to full slow, that noise is the damper working. It's the sound of the damper oil going through the oil ports. The noise is normal on all shocks and forks. If you speed the rebound up, the sound should become more faint.

Agree! I've had this noise since mag 21! Quess I'm familiar with current my setup of Recon 335 (solo air) and Ario 3.2. When there is no sound I'll be more worried than without.
