I've just bought the fork new and installed it on the bike.
When I push down on the fork it won't wouldn't compress more than an inch even though there isn't any air in it. I removed the air cap and indeed wasn't there wasn't any air in the fork as none hissed out as I unscrewed the cap.
Now that the air cap was off, the fork would compress easily. I pressed more intensively on the fork and a small amount of oil shot out at a million miles, and what I can best describe as an upside bottle cap came shooting out also.
My questions are: Why would a new fork not compress if there is no air in it? And what do I do now that I have lost the small amount of oil and have this this upside down cap out of the fork? HELP......
thanks in advance. Kand
