Manitou Swinger 3way SPV upgrade options?

    Hi,

I got a univega alpina upct (scandium frame version), it came with a manitou swinger 3way spv. Bike is from 2006/07. Stroke length is 50mm on the shock. Looking to upgrade the rear shock.

Looking at chainreactioncycles, theres a few rear shocks on sale.

It states that stroke length is:152mm - 32mm

Would this work? Any other suggestions to what look at.

You need to know the length as well as the stroke of the shock, I would assume it's 200x50mm or 190x50mm, but you need to know first.

Whichever it is, you really have to replace like for like, frames that can easily fit more than one length of shock without messing up the geometry (or breaking the frame) are pretty rare.

As for the shock itself, Rockshox Monarchs are my favourite for air springs, but the Fox and X Fusion models are pretty much great too.
