Manitou Match Comp or something else?

Manitou Match Comp for $215 at price point. My bike is older so no disk brake mounts and needs an 80mm fork.

What else is comparable? Any better deals? The Rockshox XC32 tk or Recon Silver are cheaper, but I think they might not be as nice.

I don't have to buy a new fork because I have a Kona P2 rigid fork, but it would be nice to be able to swap in a suspension fork for rougher trails.

The problem with the forks you listed is that they are very heavy especially when compared to a rigid fork. If you have so far been using a rigid fork you will notice that the front of the bike is suddenly extremely heavy which makes lifting the front wheel of the ground noticeably harder. It also contributes to the overall weight of the bike and makes climbing harder too. If you're not so much concerned with this go with the Manitou Match as it has the best damper of the three. Otherwise consider a lighter air sprung fork or ride it rigid.

Here is what I got recently. Just installed it today.

Manitou Minute Expert Forks 2012 | Buy Online | ChainReactionCycles.com

the 80mm is $220 - 10% with the current coupon code and you'll get it express mail in under a week.

It comes with V brake bosses installed. All you need to do is get yourself a star nut and a shock pump.

I bought it because I was looking at the recon silver soloair and I made a thread, in which i was convinced by more knowledable guys that the Manitou Match is better. Then I found the Expert which is a step up from the Match for cheaper than the Match so I got it.

    Good luck.

    Good advice, thanks.

I think I will stick with the rigid fork for now.
