How to inflate/deflate Marzocchi 44 ATA?

    Hey guys,

I'm trying to take my fork apart to fix the stuck down issue and I don't know how to deflate the ATA chamber. I don't see any valves or anything with the ATA knob off, so what gives?

Does anyone have a Marzocchi air fork with ATA that knows what the deal is? I would really appreciate it.

i have an older 66 ATA, so my experience may not bear - what model year is your 44?

On mine there were two chambers with air on the ATA side (left), bottom of fork leg and top of fork leg.

The primary pos-air chamber valve just under the silver screw-in that sat at the midst of the ata topcap. It required the marzocchi adapter to inflate as it was in a deep well. It is a standard schraeder valve otherwise.

The secondary pos-air (PAR) valve at the bottom of the left leg just used the shock pump directly, no problem.

On the right-side leg, the RC2 damper, there was also an air cap at the top which I typically ignored. Adding any air to it for me added too much progression the system. I usually just bled it empty of air (e.g. ambient pressure) with the fork adjusted all the way out to 180mm travel.

    hope it helps.

    Thanks for the response!

    It's a 2009 model, this one:

    Tenneco Marzocchi Suspension - 2009 forks - 44 ATA

It would appear that I need the adapter for the top ATA chamber.

    So thanks, that does help.

FYI, if you're just letting air out, you can poke a narrow allen down to depress the valve.

airing-up afterwards, well, that'll require the adapter. ;^)

Ahh, thanks for that info!!! I went ahead and bought the adapter, but I can definitely put the allen key trick to use for right now.
