help with fox 36 float O/B oil/seal change!!

When I get to the step where I have to tap the bottom nuts with a plastic mallet, it will NOT budge. I don't want to hit it too hard, but I think I've already hit it harder than I'm supposed to. I let out all the air pressure and I loosened the top 32mm damper and air spring caps, and turned the fork up-side-down but nothing is becoming loose when I hit it. Please help!

    Hit it harder.
Just make sure that when you do that the foot nuts are engaged on several threads.
If you back the foot nuts too far out and only have a thread or two in the nut, you can damage the threads if you hit them too hard.
For stubborn foot nuts I unthread them a few turns, place the socket over the foot nut and hit the socket and not the nut itself.

Thanks, I hit the socket with a metal hammer lightly at first and then increased intensity and eventually they came unstuck...took quite a hard blow!

So besides changing the oil, I also installed new SKF seals that I picked a while back. To me, it looks like there is a gap between the top of the seal and the sanction, does this look right? The gap goes all the way around on both sides.
