    Giant Trance X4 Fork upgrade

I realize there are a few forums on this topic already but I have a few other separate questions. Right now I have a 2012 Giant Trance X4, here's a link to the full specs on Giants website. Trance X4 (2012) - Bikes | Giant Bicycles | United States

I think I want to upgrade to a 32 Fox Float 26 140mm, haven't decided on which specific on yet but that's the basic idea. Right now the front wheel axle is using a 9mm qr so I know that I will have to change out the front wheel to take the 15mm axle on the Fox Float. My main question is what are the advantages/ disadvantages to a 15mm axle over a 9mm. And if anyone has any more in depth specs for the Trance X4 could they share them. Specifically if anyone has the specs for the stock rims they are Giant S-XC2, if I am going to change out the front rim I might as well do the rear one too.

15mm really is a 15mm hollow axle, whereas a '9mm QR' is in fact a tiny axle far less than 9mm in diameter.

Therefore, 15mm is far stiffer. If you corner hard you should be able to feel the difference.

Technically, you could get a new front hub and rebuild the wheel. However, this may not be worth doing, instead you could simply purchase a new wheelset. If this is starting to sound too expensive, go ahead with the new fork but select one with a QR dropout instead of 15mm.
