This shock has a grub screw at the bottom of the shaft to prevent the spring retaining plate
from turning. The problem is that, more than one plus turns of the preload adjuster are almost
impossible since the spring has to spin on the retaining plate. Is it safe to remove this
grub screw and apoxy the hole? Or am I going to get a jet of oil spewing from the shock?
All the shocks today allow the retaining plate to spin freely, allowing preload to be set with
little difficulty, since plate, spring and adjuster turn as a unit.
