I'm looking to finally ditch the Dart 3 that came stock on my 2010 Rockhopper. It's a noodle at 28mm, not very plush with the pre-installed firm spring, and rather limited with it's turnkey damper.
I'm currently trying to decide between a few forks. The Fox Float RL, the RockShox Recon Race/Gold RL, and the RockShox Reba RLT (Dual Air/ UTurn Air)
As far as I know the two Recons are exactly the same except the Race is 20mm TA and the Gold RL is 9mm QR. For the Reba I found a RLT UTurn Air OEM for about the same price as a new Dual Air. Seems like its a difference of travel adjustability (90-120mm) vs plushness (Dual Air)
The Fox is the priciest option, but I always hear good things about Fox forks and they are usually considered the ultimate suspension company. I can get it in either QR or 15mm TA. Downside to 15mm TA is the lack of wheelsets and the cost of the few on the market.
I'm about 160lbs and ride both smooth and technical singletrack.
Anyway, anyone have a recommendation on a fork upgrade?
