More importantly, I suppose, is just how much stiffer are DJ forks? I'm not really looking to do much DJ at all, but do plan on hitting some drops(4-5') and smaller jumps (3-4' gaps?). Other than that, though, I just want a decent fork that's as plush or more than my fairly worn out(but recently serviced) 2000 Manitou SX. I ask about DJ forks because someone recommended the Marzocchi DJ2, due to my budget. I found a 2010 DJ2 on sale for $150. Is it going to be stiffer for normal trail riding when compared to an old Manitou that was meant more for normal trail riding?
My other question is does anyone know if there is a difference between the 2011 and 2010 Marzocchi DJ2? If they're the same then obviously the 2010 for $150 is a better deal than the 2011 for $275ish. Can't seem to find any info online about this.
