    Broken Rock Shox Monarch 2.1

So I bought the Sette Ace from Pricepoint last December and it came with a Rock Shox Monarch 2.1 rear shock. Well today when I went for a ride the shock had no air and any attempt to put any in just came pissing out. It had been leaking a little over the summer, but now holds nothing! Can this shock:

    a) be repaired?
    b) would it be worth it?
    c) be returned to SRAM under warranty?
    d) can I ride it in this condition? The frame obviously sags a little and the brake line sticks out because of that rubbing my leg.

On looking at SRAM's limitations of warranty I'm wondering if they'll pass it off as "normal wear and tear". So if anyone has ever dealt with SRAM and warranties, let me know how it went.

Sucks as here in New England the best riding weather is NOW!

The monarchs are known for developing a leak at the swivel valve. there is a all wrench bolt that hold the swivel valve on, tighten it and see if it helps.

Yeah, swivel valve is very loose. What kind of wrench? Is this maybe just an easy fix?

Yes its very common. Mine is a 4mm allen wrench. My friend has an ace and his is a square. He had the problem and had the square but, But still used an allen wrench to tighten it. Tightening it should make all your problems go away.(hopefully)

On looking at the valve there is a square lip to the valve, is that what gets tightened?

Yep. since its square it means your shock is a 2008 or previous. In 2009-10 they switched to the 4mm allen. Tighten that bolt and you should be good to go.

Fixed, DONE! Needed a 7mm wrench to tighten the square cap on the swivel valve. Thanks mullen for the tip and to Mr Fix It, Pauldotcom!!

Phew, now I get to ride this weekend!!
