    blown 2011 fox triad

today i took all of the air out of my 2011 fox triad on my stumpy to cycle the shock and when i compressed it fluid started leaking out of the rebound/ compression lever. the compression lever no longer functions (just spins willy-nilly). do i need new seals or a rebuild or a new shock altogether?

You will need a rebuild. Triads are somewhat prone to these problems because of the lockout. Rear shocks support so much weight that lockouts are hard on the shock's internals.

I recommend sending it to Push and getting the Factory Tune. A shock tuned to your weight, bike and preferences will ride better than a generically setup aftermarket shock.

You'll spend $170 at PUSH for a custom tune/rebuild. Even if you could snag a somewhat new rp23 for $200 your PUSH'd shock will be a far better product. They gut the thing, re-valve it to suit you, your weight your riding style. It's not even the same shock as a stock Fox. My new 575 frame came with a new kashima 2012 RP23. I rode it for 2 weeks maybe trying to give it a chance. Then I took my '08 Pushed RP23 off the shelf and installed that on the new bike. Next day I listed the Kashima coated shock on mtbr classifieds.

Look I'm not saying it will blow your mind and make you ride 6'' off the ground. It's just a better product for the money.
