Just found out this weekend that the travel adjust on a brand new Talas rear shock does not work. I have two identical bikes (mine and girlfriend) so I know it does not work because it does work fine on mine.
Basically the travel stays the same wether in the extended lever position or any of the other two positions. Other than that the shock works fine.
I called Fox service and they said I have to send it. So before I do that and loose the shock for a week, I tought I would ask my "mtbr" friends their opinion...

It does have to go back to Fox. Ship it overnight, and keep on top of Fox about it. Give them a couple of days after recieving it, and track the shock. Stay on top of them, or it may sit dormant for "a couple" of days. It will be fine when you get it back. Is the shop large enough to have a loaner shock? Even if it is the same ete and stroke, but not a Talas?
I'm in Canada so Fox service is not Fox itself!!! It's a bike shop in Montreal that is responsible for servicing Fox products. I don't trust them very much so I was hoping somebody else had the same problem before so I could benefit from their experience to make sure this service center does not play games with me! I will bring them the shock at the end of the week only because their "mechanic" is supposedly on a training/conference at Fox in California this week!
Thanks.

hi Mario...the shop i've talked to you in quebec city should make the job correctly they are the only sales/service center in the area. They have courtesy pieces, and they pass me a TALAS RLC fork during my long wait to get my Talas R.
Good luck
Marc
