Air Shock settings for big boy rider

I am 6' 4" and 280 pounds...i ride a 2012 Specialized Epic 29'r with I-9 Wheels. I ride quite a bit and mostly technical trails. I hit it pretty hard and fast and will bomb it out when possible.

Cannot seem to get the air settings on the front and rear shocks to be firm enough. I generally run about 250 in the back and 125 in the front. Concerned about running to much more in the rear as i am not sure if the chamber will hold up.

Any advice on the air set up? Most of the stuff i have read on Fox suspensions do not cover weight above 235.

There has to be some other big boy riders out there with similar issues.

    thanks - mlw

I know with 2012 &.2013 Fox rp23 you can put up 300psi. With the same 2 years for the Fox float forks you can put up to 110psi. Im around 265 currently without gear. Running between 100 &105psi upfront and between 260 & 275psi in the rear. Keep riding and dropping the weight. It'll get better.

Ed. Thanks for the numbers....I have read the up to 300 before, but never wanted to push the envelope that far. I will increase it this week end to see what if any affect it has.

    thanks again.
