'99 Rock Shox Judy C (or XC)

I'm reviving my riding and my ride. It's a 99 Schwinn Homegrown hardtail with a Judy fork. I think it is a C but may be an XC. Anyway, it (the fork) creaks to all hell. Otherwise, seems to work fine. No cracks to the naked eye. Not sure where the creaking is coming from.

Is this a common problem with this fork and is there a way to repair it?

    Is this a 80mm fork?

Any replacement suggestions? I'm gonna ride the bike for awhile yet but will replace it so I don't really want to put more than $200 into a new fork. And, I want to maintain the geometery.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    grease

If it is a judy c, open it up and put grease on the spring(s). I am pretty sure this is just a spring fork? If so, take off the topcap with the adjuster on top, and grease up the spring. That could do the trick.

Thanks for the input. It is however a coil spring in oil bath. Still, I ought to open it up but haven't cause I'm not sure what oil to get and where to get it.
