My new 2013 Giant Anthem X1 29'er came with Fox Float 29 EVO CTD forks. I miss the low speed compression adjustment and lockout threshold adjust I had on my 2009 32 RLC 100. I found these features useful.
Unlike the Evolution fork, the Factory CTD fork has 3 Trail settings for low speed compression, FIT (separates air and oil) and Kashima (supposedly smoother stanction surface for smoother motion). Like the EVO, there is no lockout (or Climb) threshold adjust on the Factory fork. If you go remote you need a conversion kit for the Evolution fork and you lose the 3 Trail Adjust settings on the Factory fork.
Are the 3 Trail Adjust settings of the Factory fork an improvement in tunability over the Evolution fork?
Is the lack of low speed compression a deal breaker with these Evo and Factory forks?
What about the lack of lockout threshold/climb adjust?
What is your experience with the differences between these forks?
Have Fox gone backwards?
Also, how is the rear shock? It seem like there isn't the same type of platform like the Propedal RP23 had.
Have you compared the CTD shock with the RP23?
