I have a 2008 rockshox recon 351 solo air with motion control w/ lock out. The solo air assembly is broke - legitimately (if you want more on that, I can elaborate). I cannot find a solo air assembly for the 2008 series of the recon fork. I do however know (99% sure that is) that is is a 32mm stanchion'd fork.
The idea to fix it:
I would like to purchase the 2011 rockshox recon gold 26/29 100mm travel solo air kit for it. From what I understand - they are 32mm stanchion as well, and the assembly rides on the interior walls of the stanchion unlike the recon silver which has it's own internal air cartridge.
I will be running this fork at 75-80mm travel (or less even, if possible) as a dirt jump/pumptrack/street fork. This will require that the fork can be dropped that low - and I am not sure if the 26/29 feature of the gold/silver line of recons will cause interference at full travel - as it would seem that the axle-2-crown height of such a fork would be greater then that of the 26 variant.
Short of that - I'd love to purchase an actual 2008 solo air assembly or spring assembly for about $70 shipped or less and get this thing back on the road/trail/track!
Let me know your opinions!
I'm also very willing to change over to a spring kit - firm or extra firm most likely. u-turn would be awesome.
