2007 Pike 454 - Cartridge Issues
Got a 2007 Pike 454 coil 95-140mm. The cartridges keep blowing, a couple of questions.
Can the fork be modified with some other internals, to an open bath damping system?
If not, is there a recommendation for a more durable cartridge that will last more than a few rides?

Keeps blowing what?
What exactly is it doing? The old Motion Control dampers where fairly simple to work on and troubleshoot.

The cartridge blows out, spewing oil, and rendering the fork a useless spring, with no damping.

I have had MoCo fork's for years and never had one "blow out", leak yes on the early MoCo damper. Sounds like yours are possibly overfilled causing hydra-lock.

Please define 'blowing'
Also, can you detail the repairs?
My first instinct would be an overfill of oil, or that the floodgate is stuck closed.
Could also be that one or more seals inside are shot and oil is escaping into the lowers.
If you're desperate, you can fit Rockshox Revelation blackbox and RLT dampers to Pikes, but it take a bit of bodging. The Motion Control damper is normally very reliable, it's worth your time looking in the stanchions and lowers for anything out of place that may be causing your problems.
