2007 Marzocchi XC 700 SL air pressure settings

just recieved a Marzocchi Retro XC 700 SL from pricepoint.

im having alot of fun with this fork so far, it is alot more fun/plusher than my older 1998 Z.2 BAM.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

though i am having trouble figuring out the proper air pressure settings with this fork...

i weigh 155lbs and by looking at the recommend settings from marzocchi, i should have it set at (top/bottom) 85/115.

it seems really stiff so i tried 60/110 which seems feels a little better.

any ideas on what pressure settings i should have or experiences you guys have had with this fork?

note: im riding on a trek stp softail and ride xc new england trails.

    worthless manual

try 3 to 1 top to bottom as a starting point.

yeah the manual is not the best.

so when u mean 3:1.... if i have the bottom at 115, divide that by 3 correct?

so the top would be about 38

    Nope

I don't know whats up with the Marz set points but they turned the 130mm fork into a 25mm travel fork; I actually use 60/20 on the xc 700 sl on my 5 Spot with a 70mm stem and I've still come up with more like 123mm travel. I have a freind with the same fork on his ID and his set up is the same as mine so give it a try.Give it a try.

    marz settings are essentially arbitrary.

just make sure that your PAR is greater than your SFA by 30 psi.

    then go with what works.
