    xtr vs. xt pedals

I'm about to pull the trigger on a new set of pedals and am trying to figure out the difference between the xtr and xt. The only thing i can find is a 25 gram weight difference and a coating on the xtr engagement point. The shimano website states the spindle as the same.

I can't see 25 grams as being the $45 price difference. Anything else i should know?
I'm UNIQUE... just like everybody else.

Weight and coating, that's it. To me the XT's are a good value. The better value is the 540 however. Same pedal, just doesn't say XT and it might be 2 grams heavier.

Totally agree with CHSAD. 540s are the best value and I think they look a lot better than the XTs. After a few months of heavy trail riding, the XT logo will be all scratched off anyway. I base my opinion on my XTR pedals...which the outside logo is now completely gone after 1.5 years.

    Get the 540s.
