XTR Trail vs Race 2x10 -- Difference??

A bit of misunderstanding in the difference between the Race and Trail versions when comparing 2x10 versions as I don't see differences. Is it solely in brakes?

Also does anyone know if the new Shadow Plus rear derailleur will be part of an XTR kit/grouppo or will it have to be bought as seperate item?

The XTR Trail has different chaingring sizes. The XTR Race offers a 40/28 and 42/30 while the XTR Trail offeres a 38/26. The Q factor of the Trail version is also a bit wider, not sure of exact measurements.

"race" cranksets also use a proprietary 88mm BCD and 1 common bolt to capture both rings (to save the weight of 4 chainring bolts!), whereas "trail" version uses "standard" 64/104 and 4 bolts per ring.

I ended up going with the 2 x 10 XTR Trail crank because it gives me several more options of chain rings with the 64/104 and you can pull a couple of dust caps to allow you to run 3 x 10 or a bash guard.
