XTR Shadow "Plus" to be in XT line also?

Like most, if not all, of the XTR concepts have made it to the XT lines, I'm hoping to see that happen with the rear Shadow Plus rear derailleur. XTR is sweet of course, but I refuse to pay $250 for a derailleur. I made that mistake when I paid nearly $250 for the trail pedals, only to see the same design in the XT line for $100+ less.

Probably, but it will likely be until the next model year comes around. The new XTR features are usually exclusive to XTR for about a model year...

I've been hearing rumors that it will happen. I was talking to a rep that was hinting but not saying for sure. So hopefully

Does anyone know when the XT rear deraileur with the Plus will be available?

Would like to have one for a new build and forgo the chain guide on a 2x set up.

Apparently there is a version 2.0 for the clutch derrailleur as well:

From SOC12: A Second Look at Shimano

"The design has been refined since it was first introduced and the cam is now grooved so grease is not pushed outward and out of the clutch mechanism."
Ego maniacs please object to my posts.

At the Sea Otter the Shimano rep said all lines will come out with the Plus clutch in July/August. The cooler thing is a whole new line called ZEE is also being released. It's the new AM/DH line between Saint and XT. I'm anxiously awaiting this as it has a true short cage dérailleur like the old 8 spd line. It has larger pulleys and looks pretty compact and slick. It should shift really crisp with that short cage and of course has better clearance being a shadow and short cage.

Zee is a renaming of Hone. It'll remain a heavier, less expensive version of Saint.

Too late, no rep for you

Got my XT mid cage from them on Friday. Rode it Saturday and it works great! Very minimal chain noise from a 2x setup when the trail gets really rough. I even decided to drop the LRP chain guide.

Upgrade to 10spd and clutched derailleur was worth it.

Too bad I have to choose between gear indicators and the clutch since neither Sram or Shimano make 10spd shifters with indicators and clutch derailleurs won't work with 8&9 speed. I consider both features pretty useful but for now I'll take indicators over the clutch.

You could use Shimano inline indicators:

Just ordered some to go with my new xt shadow plus that arrived yesterday. I take the indicator off anyway can't see the need for them.

Just waiting for my kind shock lev 150 to arrive early next week and happy days

Good to know they exist in case the itch for a clutch derailleur gets too strong. Shimano indicators aren't as easy to see as Sram's that wrapped around the bar, but better than nothing. I had a 25min Suped D today and glanced at my rear indicator a couple times to be sure what gear I was in after multi up/down shifts.
