    xtr m970 hubs

Are these hubs rebuildable and are they worth the money as a long term reusable hub or are they really race oriented and should be thought of as such?

Easily rebuildable, they're loose ball bearing type so they'll last forever.

I've been riding on a set of M960 XTR hubs on a long travel trail bike for almost six years. Besides replacing the ball bearings and re-greasing twice in that time, they are untouched and still perfect. There is no reason M970 would be any different. My greatest dissapointment is that they don't have a through axle rear hub. No more QRs for me on mountain bikes.

The trouble with having an open mind is that people will insist on trying to put things in it.
