    XT shifter cover

    I just purchased a new xt dyna rear shifter and deraliure and an additional black cover with 2 little screws cmae with it. Anyone know what it is for?

    It sounds like the cover if you want to remove the gearshift indicator.

    Yeah. It's the flat cover to give you better positioning for 1 finger braking. If you don't want that cover I'd gladly take it off your hands. I'm having a heck of a time finding these covers. I am not a fan of the indicator.

    Hey all you looking for the cover plates for the xt, look underneath your indicators.
    They come with the shifter and are actually intergrated into the bottom side for you. you should be able to see them even when intalled.

    They do not do this anymore starting with the 780 shifters. It's an entirely different design.

    Shimano is supposed to have these in stock this month. We shall see....
