    x-post- xt/r r.d. w/ xo twisties?

i've asked before and the answer is probably still the same, but has anyone figured out a way to use xo twist's with an xt or xtr rear d? if the sram shifters and r.d. use a 1:1 ratio and the xt/r r.d. is a 2:1 ratio, if you could figure out how to fit a smaller diameter "spool" in the x/n shifters, could you thereby convert your 1:1 shifters to accurately operate a 2:1 r.d?

discalimer: I am not a mechanical engineer, or an engineer of any sort, and fully realize i may be asking a stupid question and/or mangling the whole sh'bang.

    thanks

I think I've seen a link to a device which could change ratios somewhere, but not offhand.
